Guatemala faces persistent water and sanitation challenges, with some of the highest rates of chronic malnutrition in Latin America. Through the USAID-funded IWASH programme, Akvo partners with Global Communities and national institutions to develop an integrated WASH and water resources management (WRM) system. Akvo leads on data strategy design, digital tool development, and capacity building to support improved monitoring and coordination across local governments and utilities. The initiative strengthens the enabling environment for equitable water access and builds the technical capacity needed for long-term WASH service delivery and climate resilience.
