Programme d'Appui aux Gouvernement Ouverts Francophones (PAGOF)

In the context of the Programme d'Appui aux Gouvernement Ouverts Francophones (#PAGOF), led by Expertise France and CFI and funded by the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), a training workshop was held in February-March 2019 to enable government representatives and civil society leaders to implement this commitment by i) building technical and theoretical capacity in open data publication and ii) supporting the government in publishing 35 new datasets. However, the aim is not just to publish data, but to add value to it through the creation of useful applications for all (decision-makers, citizens, etc.). With this in mind, a hackathon was organized to develop a platform for the Permanent Secretariat of the national multi-sector council for the protection and promotion of the rights of disabled people in Burkina Faso (SP-COMUD/Handicap).
At the end of the hackathon, Akvo was awarded a contract to finalize the development of an information system tailored to the needs of the SP-COMUD/Handicap, which will contribute to improving the inclusion and care of disabled people in Burkina Faso.
